Hunter Soccer Club is one of the oldest, non-profit clubs in
the Delaware Valley and is one of the original founding clubs of
the Intercounty Soccer League.
Hunter Soccer Club runs programs for children
of all ages. Visit our Intramurals Program page for the youngest
children. Travel Program, for the older boys and girls, and finally,
our Seniors Program. Hunter runs the Hunter Summer Soccer Camp for players of all ages. We also host the Jack Walsh Tournament each Columbus Day for travel soccer teams from the Easter Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Eastern Maryland areas.
Our club meetings are held at 8 PM on the First Thursday of every month (except July and January). They have usually been held at the Glenside Bible Church on Keswick Ave. in Glenside, PA. However, with the completion of our clubhouse, club meetings may begin at the clubhouse with the August or September 2009 meetings. Stay tuned.
The club is currently focused on two main endeavors (asside from the usual Intramural League, Travel Team, Tournament, and Scholarship activities).
The first is the construction of our NEW CLUBHOUSE. An artist's rendering is illustrated above. Ground breaking is scheduled for later this spring. Township and other local authorities have been very supportive is helping us make this new clubhouse a reality. Special thanks go to PA State Representative Josh Shapiro and PA Senator Leanna Washington for helping us raise over $200,000 toward the building costs. We would also like to recognize the Township of Abington and all its officials, especially Commissioner Les Benzak, for their support and help. We are still looking for additional funds and donations to cover all the construction costs and furnishings. Doners can contact Sandy Caiazzo, Fundraising Chairman, about donations, including purchasing Commemorative Bricks. Please see our Clubhouse page under the News Section of this Website for additional information.
The second is the development of this new Website. Everything is new. From the look of the site to the easier navigation, both at the top of each page and withing the body of text on each page. The top of each page provides the traditional drop-down menus for each major area within Hunter. If you find something in the text refering to information in another location and it is underlined, simply mouse-clicking that link to jump you immediately to the information page concerned.
This
is a new active website, much of it currently under construction. Our goal is to keep coaches, parents, children and fans
informed about what's going on in the club, as well as offer resources to improve everyone's soccer experience.
We hope to provide many helpful items on this site. A partial list of topics you will eventually find on the site includes the following:
* Background information on Hunter Soccer including it's History and Mission
* Registration Information for both Intramurals and Travel Players
* Intramural and Travel Hotline News
* Intramural and Travel Team information including schedules and key dates
* Links to soccer resources such as soccer associations and Hunter sponsors
* Coaching resources, and
* Announcments of upcoming events and news of intramural and travel team activities and accomplishments
Thanks for stopping by !
