In the Southeastern Pennsylvania area, soccer clubs field teams
of accomplished players to compete against other club teams at the
same age group. These teams travel to other club’s to compete
in these games, hence, the term “Travel Teams”. Usually,
a club team will play another club twice, once at its own home field
and again at the other club’s field.
The
Hunter Soccer Club fields separate travel teams for both
boys and girls in all age groups
from 9 year olds up to 18 year olds.
The designation used in soccer is Under-10’s to Under-19’s.
The age cutoff date is August 1. To determine what age group your
player falls into, please CLICK HERE

Hunter’s
travel teams compete primarily in the InterCounty
Soccer League. InterCounty includes approximately 75 soccer clubs
located in Montgomery County, Bucks County and Philadelphia. Teams
play in divisions which attempt to match similarly skilled teams.
Most divisions include 8 teams; this provides for a 14 game season
with each team playing the other teams in its division twice, once
at “home” and once “away”.
The fall travel team season begins on the first
weekend after Labor Day and ends with the first weekend in December.
Travel teams in the InterCounty Soccer League usually play one game
per week on Saturdays, however, due to scheduling requirements,
teams may have games scheduled on one or more Sundays also.
With
its accomplished coaching staff, Hunter fields competitive teams,
many of which play in the most competitive divisions and often win
their division. Anyone can become a Hunter travel team player.
Try-outs
are held each spring in May and June. Hunter travel teams are filled
with intramural players who wish to further develop their skills
in the travel team arena, players seeking new club affiliation,
and accomplished players who have recently moved into the area.
Hunter’s success in developing quality soccer players has
attracted numerous travel players from outside the club.
Many Hunter Soccer Club players have gone on to
excel in their high school and college teams.
